![]() if I run the INSTALL program from either the diskette or while inside the AZTECH directory on the hard disk, the system hangs. This resulted in the temp directory being created (as before), but then the screen clears and I am left at the C:\ prompt. From the C:\ prompt, I entered C:\AZTECH\INSTALL Copy the diskette contents to C:\AZTECHĢ. I tried copying the diskette contents to the hard drive and executing the software. When I do, the pop-up message goes away, the splash screen stays, a AZTINST.TMP directory is created on the C drive with a couple entries and then the machine locks. When I tried to install the software from the A drive, the initial screen comes up which asks me to hit any key to continue. This card came with 9 diskettes and the manual says the DOS installation software is on disk 1. This card does have some physical jumpers which can be set. I didn't test the modem (I don't need it). I installed this in a DOS 6.2 machine and the sound seems to work without any drivers. However, I believe the hardware settings are controlled via a software program and I believe that software program is probably on the diskettes.īut my question on this card - has anyone had the same problem trying to read the installation diskettes? One 3300 card has already been installed in a Win98 machine and seems to work fine without any additional drivers from the diskettes - the diskettes seem to be for Win 3.1 and Win95. I get errors such as "disk not formatted". I have three of these cards and for each one I cannot read the diskettes, including one card which was still sealed in the box until I opened it last week to test the diskettes. The installation software is on the diskettes and I think the CDs contain software (like a CD player, etc.). This card came with 3 diskettes and 2 CDs. This is important because my machines have a game card and the game card software won't install unless the game port on the sound card is disabled.įirst the 3300. Both have a game port which can only be disabled via software. The other is the 3300 model which is a sound card and 33.6 modem. One is the Telephony 2000 which is a sound card and 14.4 modem. I have a couple questiosn concerning old AZTech modem/sound combo cards. ![]()
